The work:
Exploring the interplay between organic forms and the forces that shape them, this piece draws inspiration from the elements of earth, wind, and water. Holes in the ceramic pieces evoke the delicate yet powerful process of erosion, allowing visual and tactile influences, like the density of iron and the movement of lava, to juxtapose with negative space. The pieces in this series offer a meditative exploration of time, transformation, and the natural world, inviting viewers to consider the invisible forces that shape the world around us.
Dimensions:
24" tall with shade X 9" diameter
The artist:
Born and raised in New York City, Brooklyn-based artist Lena Davis (@LenaDavisDesigns) finds boundless inspiration in nature and a rich tapestry of cultural experiences. Drawing from a background in knitwear design, Lena infuses her ceramic creations with a flair for patterns and textures, creating pieces that are as visually captivating as they are functional.
