We offer the Work Study option in support of equitable community building and our mission to make ceramic arts more accessible. If you are able to take a class at full cost we ask that you do not apply so the Work Study positions are available to those who need it most. As a Work Study, you are required to arrive 30 minutes before class and stay 30 minutes after class for set up and clean up. Work Study tasks include, but are not limited to, wiping down tables, sweeping and/or mopping, putting away tools, and restocking clay, towels, and aprons. During the class you are a student like everyone else, so this position does not require you to have prior experience in clay. In exchange for your time and work, you receive half off of the class!
Work Studies will be accepted pending funding and availability.
Applications are now closed for the January Feburary 2026 session, and will reopen in late January 2026. PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL US TO ASK IF YOU CAN DO A WORK / STUDY!
We believe strongly in the value of diverse voices, backgrounds, and experiences to enrich and sustain the Artshack community. We recognize that Black & Brown artists, who have been most impacted by racism and colonialism, are critical to our creative future. These scholarships are one step along the path toward more inclusivity and equity.
Scholarship recipients will receive a full scholarship for the class tuition. These scholarships are for Black & Brown-identifying individuals only, with priority given to Black and Brown individuals that have lived in Bed Stuy for over 10 years.
