The work:

Speckled Clay, steel, wax. We wanted to design our collections as vignettes, a collection of objects that have a relationship to one another. They can be purchased as a grouping or as single pieces.” Danu elaborates. “We tend to be holistic in the way we think of furniture design and interior design; imagining the room a piece will exist within and how that dictates some of the decisions we make in terms of materials and more.

Dimensions:

17" x 12" x 3" (base)

The artist:

Founded by Danu Kennedy and Jeremy Levitt, partners of the award-winning New York City-based design firm Parts and Labor Design, Known Work is an expression of their dedication to detailed craft, material integrity, and fostering community at an intimate scale. The studio has an anthropological approach to each collection, investigating the relationship between human and object. A reverence for craftsmanship is paramount. Whether it be sketching, molding, carving, the studio is proximal to their process. In this way, objects are seen as artifacts. Known Work seeks to stir the visceral, to make the unknown ‘known’.
