Launched in 2020, Artshack's Artist in Residence offers a three-month studio program for artists to produce work in clay. Artshack invites applications from artists at any ceramics skill level. Artists may be ceramics artists, or may have never worked with clay before, but they need to be relatively independent from our staff. They should be open to experimentation and the unpredictability inherent to the ceramics process. The residency culminates in a 6-week show at our experimental gallery space, Keepsake. The work presented will reflect the artist’s work during the residency. We will prioritize projects that are either Bedstuy natives or that are community-centered.
